New in: Barbour Beacon | Circa
British heritage gets a contemporary twist – with explosive results. Now available at Circa.
For over 100 years, Barbour has delivered iconic British style steeped in history. Created in South Shields by John Barbour in 1894, the ‘The Beacon’ symbol synonymous with the brand is based on a real structure; the Herd Goyne Lighthouse located at the mouth of the River Tyne that was used to guide sailors safely into the harbour.
Now, Barbour has re-invented the beacon symbol and launched a brand new sub-brand, Barbour Beacon.
Distinguished by Barbour’s classic navy and olive colourways infused with exciting pops of green and orange, the Beacon range breathes fresh life into tried and tested classics.
With a younger generation in mind, Barbour Beacon deconstructs the traditional designs of its’ parent brand to deliver a more laid-back, modern aesthetic. Barbour Beacon is for the youthful fashion follower who likes their garments to be modern, but practical. Think fleeces that pop with colour and technical outerwear with unique pockets, all engineered for outdoor pursuits.
Just take the Stybarrow and Lingmell waxed jackets, each delivering a healthy dose of brand heritage livened up enough to ensure that you don’t have to be out in the field shooting clay pigeons to look at home in one. Barbour Beacon is designed with hiking, not hunting, in mind.
Elsewhere in the range, you’ll find bold block panels and hooded jackets that stay true to the ethos of craftsmanship that Barbour was built on. The only difference is that now, The Beacon doesn’t guide sailors, it guides the fashion conscious.
